About Me

I’m just a girl who loves her Lord and has fallen deeply in love with a man who gave his life for me. His name is Jesus and I have known him since I was ten years old. He is the one who knows me best, loves me most, and forgives me unconditionally when I ask.

Christ alone has truly given me beauty amidst the ashes of a broken childhood. I learned very young, as the sacred was torn from my life, to climb into the lap of my redeemer and let him hold me tight as the tears flowed down my fair skinned cheeks and my long brown hair draped in front of my face in shame.  Life was hard…life was tough growing up in the old Victorian along the banks of the Ohio River in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania. But my faithful friend…Jesus…he never left me nor forsook me. He was an ever present help in times of trouble and saw to it that the little girl with hazel eyes was protected. I am grateful to Him for this, but even more grateful for His surrender in Gethsemane where his sweat dropped as blood from his brow and then ultimate victory for me was given in his last human breath taken on the cross at Calvary.
I met my husband Bill at the age of 24 and we were married in December, a Christmas wedding, after a 7 month courtship. This December 28th, we will have been happily married (most of the time…LOL) for 24 years. We have three beautiful gifts from God in our children. The Quiet Giant (a boy) is 21 and is currently attending Middle Tennessee State University in his last semester.  God’s Girl is my most special gift as together we stay strong in the arms of our Abba as we live with the challenge of Asperger Syndrome (high functioning Autism). She is19 and is one of the biggest joys of my life! The Little One (a boy),15 year old, has his dad’s personality and his mama’s athleticism. They have been highly successful in many things in their young lives, but most importantly they have all prayed to make Jesus Lord in their life.  My prayer continually for them is Philippians 1:9-11…

“And this is my prayer for you:
that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,
so that you may be able to discern what is best
and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ,
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ –
to the glory and praise of God.”
~Amen
My husband and I with our children have traveled and lived in many places. We started in western Pennsylvania, moved to Clarion, Pennsylvania (north), to DeWitt, Iowa for almost five years, then to Chesterton, Indiana for one year, and back to Iowa for one year,  eastern Pennsylvania for 6 years, and now back where I call home back in western Pennsylvania. God has grown me tremendously over these past 14 years and continues to grow me more into who he desires to this day.
Barn in Humboldt, Iowa...they painted quilts on the front.
Now days, I am earnestly trying to be disciplined more deeply in my daily walk with the Lord. How you ask? I take the time to sit at the feet of Jesus by reading His Word and prayerfully seeking His face and not his hand.
God is teaching me a lot through this sacrifice and surrender to Him. In my experience thus far, the once faint whispers of the Holy Spirit are not so faint anymore, but more clear leading me in the direction of my life. I have come to appreciate Psalm 27 a great deal especially the last verse…
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart
And wait for the Lord.”
~Psalm 27:14
